About Wrigley Field
Wrigley Field is the home of the Chicago Cubs baseball team, first opened in 1914 under the name Weeghman Park. Since 2016, security screening through metal detectors has been implemented at all Wrigley Field gates.This enhanced security measure is part of a wider initiative to increase safety across all MLB stadiums in the US.
The following items are prohibited at Wrigley Field during game days:
- Bags larger than 16x16x8 inches (slightly bigger than a tote bag)
- Luggage of any kind
- Alcohol
- Containers (cans, aerosol spray, glass, hard-sided coolers, thermoses or flasks)
- Illegal drugs
- Inflatables
- Laser pointers,
- Non-factory sealed plastic bottles,
- Portable stadium seats
- Umbrellas
